Eine Kruste aus Kupfersulfat, Kupferoxid und Schmutz verdeckt alte Lötstellen und Stellen mit Lochfraßkorrosion.
Vorsichtig werden Oxid – und Schmutzschichten entfernt und einzelne kleine Lochfraßstellen repariert. Die Metalloberfläche liegt nun frei.
Nach der Ergänzungspatinierung der Reparatur- oder Beschädigungsstellen erfolgt die Konservierung mit einem säurefreien, mikrokristallinen Wachs.
Eine neugegossene Bronzereplik kann das Original ersetzen um es zu schonen. Sie kann aber auch als Reminiszenz an einem anderen Ort angebracht werden.

This type of restoration is very gentle, but it must be repeated approximately every 30 to 60 years, depending on the environment.
