Do you enjoy working with precision, have a keen eye for detail, and want to create something lasting with your hands? Then an apprenticeship as an engraver is just right for you.

At the Plein Art Foundry, you’ll combine traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. You’ll work with metals such as bronze, brass, nickel silver, and stainless steel to create attached letters, ornaments, reliefs, and intricate details for works of art, architectural projects, and high-quality design objects.

What does an engraver do?

As an engraver, you work on metal surfaces by engraving fonts, patterns, and motifs or by sculpting them into relief. This requires precision, technical skill, and a keen sense of form and design.

Do you have an eye for detail?

Engravers are the precision designers of surface technology: They create high-quality engravings, inscriptions, and reliefs on metal—from the digital template to the finished product. In doing so, they prepare workflows, select suitable tools and materials, create and edit CAD data, and operate computer-controlled engraving and milling machines. The precise setup of the machines, monitoring of production processes, and inspection of results are just as much a part of their daily work as the safe use of modern CNC technology.

At our company, engravers are much more than traditional craftsmen. The focus is on working with modern machines and transforming digital designs into precise engravings and one-of-a-kind pieces. You ensure that data is transformed into high-quality, functional, and aesthetically pleasing products. Your skills combine computer technology, machine operation, and technical expertise—and turn every engraving into a one-of-a-kind, custom piece.
